The Walt Disney Company will launch a Disney-branded streaming service in 2019 featuring an incomparable collection of content from its brands and franchises recognized and respected all over the world. The direct-to-consumer (DTC) service will serve as the exclusive home for viewing original movies, series, short-form, and more, along with a vibrant catalogue that spans classic Disney Animation to the most recent movie releases. We are seeking an experienced marketing leader for the position of Vice President, Marketing. Reporting to the GM of the Disney DTC service and part of the BAMTECH team in New York, this individual will collaborate cross-functionally with the BAMTECH marketing team, plus content & brand marketers and stakeholders from business units across The Walt Disney Company. The VP Marketing will play the lead role in driving subscriber acquisition, retention, and satisfaction for the Disney streaming service worldwide. The ideal candidate will have experience in comparable positions leading performance marketing for similar DTC subscription services.

Responsibilities :

  • Manage all aspects of marketing strategy, planning, and execution for the Disney DTC service globally

  • Build a world-class performance marketing team to deliver on the ambitious goals of the Disney DTC service

  • Partner with the BAMTECH marketing team to specify platform capability, service, and tool requirements plus other centralized services in order to support Disney DTC objectives

  • Partner with the various TWDC business units worldwide in order to conceive and execute marketing and promotional campaigns across Disney owned channels and properties

  • Own and manage the customer lifecycle from go-to-market and above-the-line brand building through free trial and conversion to paid, to retention and engagement

  • Partner with the product team to optimize the content discovery experience on behalf of subscribers, both on and off the service with the objectives of maximizing acquisition, retention, and engagement, as well as maximizing the synergies with the Disney programming and marketing calendars

  • Build and execute a rigorous discipline of analytics and measurement systems to quantify the effectiveness of all marketing and customer satisfaction efforts.

  • Leadership, especially as a team builder, collaborator, and performance marketing expert across matrixed organizations

  • Expertise in performance marketing and building healthy subscriber bases

  • Strong strategic aptitude, clear thinking and communicating, and great decision making

  • Obsession with making customers happy, and strong opinions about good customer experience

  • Analytical chops and know-how in building data-driven decision and measurement systems

  • Strong detail orientation, but talent for quickly zooming out with mastery of the big picture

  • Successful experience building and executing effective lifecycle marketing strategies and operating in global businesses

  • Scrappiness and resourcefulness, no fear of getting your hands dirty, and an impulse to be the first to jump on a live grenade.

Preferred Qualifications :

  • Relevant experience in the context of a subscription-based entertainment content service

  • Personal affinity for the brands and franchises of The Walt Disney Company.
