Tax Senior (Mergers & Acquisitions) for Deloitte Tax LLP in New York, NY to provide corporate and private equity buyers with a broad continuum of advisory services to support mergers, acquisitions, carve-outs, investment and financing structures, disposition alternatives, and post-transaction activities. Engage with clients before, during and after the transaction. Work with clients across corporate functions, including finance, treasury, human resources, operations, information technology, and risk management to analyze and evaluate the tax profile and implement planning designed to help meet each organization's global goals, strategies, and business objectives. Diagnose, solve, develop, and implement clients' tax needs. Conduct complex tax research, formulate tax-planning strategies, and perform tax reviews. Advise U.S. and foreign multinational companies on the tax implications of their international operations and coordinate U.S. tax laws with foreign tax laws to develop an optimal worldwide tax strategy. Requires: Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Accounting, Finance, or related field (willing to accept foreign education equivalent) plus eighteen months of experience providing tax planning services or preparing and reviewing client workpapers and tax returns. Experience must include eighteen months of: creating and analyzing trial balance, tax workpapers, and journal entries to prepare federal, state, and local tax returns; reviewing consolidated and separate entity, federal and multi-state tax returns for partnerships, corporations, and RICs; reviewing and analyzing the permanent and temporary differences between book income and taxable income; analyzing the quality of tax attributes carried forward by corporations, including the calculation of Section 382 limitation; preparing tax planning workpapers to help clients estimate their future cash tax payments; and using tax software and research tools, including CorpTax, GoSystem, RIA Checkpoint, LexisNexis, and CCH, to research tax issues.
