Microsoft Research is hiring a Senior Design Manager to oversee design projects across MSR Montreal, North East (MA) and New York.

The ideal candidate will have the ability to solve product, business and design challenges, as well as bring elegance and simplicity to the end-user experience. You must have impeccable UX capabilities and a critical design eye. You must be hyper organized, an inspirational manager, and capable of nurturing innovation. Ideally you are already working in IT and are familiar with the design patterns and technology

Responsibilities

Senior design manager overseeing design projects across multiple projects in MSR Montreal, NE and New York. The candidate will be expected to lead a team of designers to manage the various design projects across the three labs.

Qualifications

  • Deep understanding of how user/design research fits into the overall creative process, and how to integrate into your overall workflow

  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, working on multiple simultaneous projects

  • Demonstrated ability to synthesize and summarize design requirements from mixed and potentially conflicting inputs

  • Proven ability to roll up your sleeves and bring concepts to life through visuals, code, vision videos, etc.

  • Ability to effectively present/communicate team design work to stakeholders and executive leadership
