Role Value Proposition:

This is an exciting opportunity to support Compliance programs of MetLife International operations. This position requires knowledge of global Compliance processes and programs as well as risk management. The candidate must be able to provide ongoing support to the International Compliance Risk Management Program (CRMP) Lead and directly to the global compliance leaders and associates. Experience with Governance, Risk & Compliance (GRC) software system is a plus. Must be detail oriented with excellent writing skills in order to perform analysis and reporting. The individual will support the CRMP Lead to carry out oversight of the International CRMP effectively and on a regular basis prepare, analyze, and generate reports. The candidate will also support International Compliance reporting to the Senior Compliance and Legal Affairs Leadership Teams and other internal stakeholders. The candidate will also support various global projects within the International Compliance Central Team. The incumbent will also support International Compliance reporting to the MetLife Inc., Board of Directors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provides ongoing support to the International CRMP Lead, the International Compliance Central Team, and to the global team (Compliance associates and their regional leaders).

  • Supports the implementation, system enhancement, and upgrades of a new CRMP system for the International organization.

  • Creates various CRMP tools, guidance, trainings, job aids and communications to support the global team.

  • Maintains and monitors the International Compliance Risk Management Program (CRMP) requirements and governance.

  • Collects, analyzes, and reports various data metrics and Key Risk Indicators (KRIs) to ensure the International CRMP Governance remains effective.

  • Monitors the ongoing CRMP updates on local, regional, and global level and/or verifies the completion in the CRMP software tool.

  • Supports the creation of the annual International Compliance Monitoring & Testing planning; monitors and reconciles the plan against the actual results on a monthly basis.

  • Supports and oversees the International Compliance responses and actions as a result of the Monitoring and Testing Activities performed by the GOSC (Global Operations Service Centre).

  • Provides administrative support in the CRMP system for new laws and regulations, compliance risks, business controls, monitoring & testing, issue management, etc.

  • Collates and analyzes complex sets of Compliance risk metrics from multiple sources and jurisdictions.

  • Assists in the preparation of various quarterly CRMP reports and presentations.

  • Participates and documents the regional level CRMP Analysis meetings.

  • Supports the implementation and enhancement of CRMP procedures as they occur.

  • Administers the International Compliance Central Team email box. Responds to and resolves inquiries received, or refers to the appropriate stakeholders for resolution.

  • Provides necessary support to and coordinates various subject matter experts as needed such as Key Risk Areas (Anti-Corruption, AML, Privacy, Sales Practices, etc.).

  • Performs other assigned duties and projects as required.

Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:

Required:

  • Strong working knowledge of Compliance processes and Compliance risks.

  • Global life insurance industry knowledge and compliance risk management or other comparable experience preferred.

  • 3+ years of relevant experience.

  • Strong organizational skills, analytical, problem solving, technical and functional expertise with attention to detail.

  • Ability to prioritize and simultaneously manage multiple tasks.

  • Communicates effectively with the ability to adapt communication styles appropriately for the program or audience.

  • Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills required; including the ability to work effectively in multicultural environment.

  • Capability to drive results under aggressive timelines while maintaining engagement of the team members and related stakeholders.

  • Excellent writing skills a must

  • Bachelor's degree or higher

Preferred:

  • Language fluency and/or international /cross-border experience a plus

  • Project management experience a plus

  • Proficient with Microsoft Package (Excel, Word, Power Point). Very advanced level of MS Excel knowledge (formulas and vlookup a must; Visual Basic a plus)

  • Experience with research/analysis and GRC system or other data management tool a plus
