AECOM’s New York, NY office is seeking an experienced Building Engineering leader to lead the continued growth of our multi-disciplinary High Performance Building Engineering team throughout our New York Metro region, driving performance building engineering solutions within multiple sectors including Sports, Corporate, Commercial, Government, Healthcare, and Education. This position reports directly to the B+P NY Metro Regional Business Line Leader and is a key member of the Senior Leadership Team.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
Leadership
Develop strategic plan for growth of Building Engineering in region
Be the primary PoC for the RBLL into the region’s Building Engineering practice
Be a champion for Building Engineering at the regional strategy table
Assist in development and implementation of NA BE B+P growth strategy
Culture
Inspire a growth and innovation centric culture within the regional BE team
Be an advocate for a market driven approach; a regional approach to BE resourcing; and the transition away from office silos
Attract, develop and retain industry leaders and prominent technical specialists to strengthen the AECOM brand and performance
Growth
Working with the national BE market sector leader, identify regional market sector BE champions (when appropriate) and empower them to work with the national B+P market sector leadership to identify, position for, and secure BE led projects within the sector and to coordinate the BE component of multi-disciplinary AECOM teams
Lead a twice-monthly BE growth call with their regional BE Sector champions for update on market opportunities and strategic positioning efforts
Engage in initial pursuit strategy calls, in support of the BE market champion and provide strategic insight into the BE approach - this is for both BE only efforts and integrated pursuits
Monitor effective maintenance of the Salesforce data by the BE market sector champions to correctly identify the anticipated revenue flow to BE from regional pursuits
Attend monthly regional BE growth call and provide updates on key growth
Maintain active involvement in strategic pursuits
Technical Excellence & Brand
Identify the regional discipline leads and empower them to lead a regional, multi-office team that is delivering innovative solutions profitably
Provide strategic oversight to the discipline hiring strategy in the region – right people, right markets, and right location
Encourage market / discipline BE brand awareness efforts (awards submittals, conference papers, etc) by the regional discipline and market BE leads
Hold monthly technical excellence call with regional discipline leaders to get update on project delivery, team training and innovation efforts
Point of contact for national MSLs, discipline or regional leaders if an issue needs to be escalated
Maintain active engagement in projects as a Project Director (2) for strategically important projects
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
15+ years’ experience in engineering with prior management experience in all phases of projects including 7+ years in a management role
Professional Engineer
Proven ability to successfully develop client relationships and win work
Ability to manage multiple projects of a complex scope
Ability to engage in development of Building Engineering strategies being deployed
Ability to empower a multi-disciplinary engineering team
Ability to analyze and provide innovative solutions
Developing system narratives (writing, organizing the document, develop images) as part of both pursuit and project efforts
CAD/BIM design
Experience with ASHRAE 90.1, 62.1 and 55
Experience with New York Building Codes
Review own work to ensure accuracy (rather than depend on peer review)
Interact and work with diverse set of clients and subcontractors
Preferred Qualifications
- Design Build experience
