Current Need

Reporting directly to the Vice President, Clinical Trial Sourcing (CTS) the Account Manager is the day to day interface between the CTS team and its manufacturer and customers partners. The role involves managing multiple accounts in order to support with the evolution and expansion of the global clinical trial sourcing operations with primary focus on the US market. Working in collaboration with both the US Pharma CTS team, McKesson Europe and individual markets this role will be responsible for managing the day to day activities with the organizations CTS customer partners. The role will be responsible for managing the account planning cycle and activities to ensure the assigned customers’ needs and expectations are met and align to our internal priorities and business goals. The position requires strong client management, interpersonal and relationship management skills, as well as problem-solving and the ability to identify opportunities.

Position Description

  • Day to day interactions and activities with customers

  • Develop and manage strong relationships with customers

  • Coordinate activities to meet customer wants and needs, sourcing product from both within and outside the McKesson network

  • Achieve growth objectives, financial targets and critical milestones

  • Develop an understanding of the supplier and customer base and gain a detailed insight into their CTS requirements globally

  • Oversee the US buy/sell models for CTS and ensure pricing strategy is established to maximize profitability for McKesson

  • Work with McKesson EU countries, US and/or directly with manufacturers to obtain necessary documentation, materials etc required to support customer needs

  • Work with the global CTS teams and relevant business units to proactively assess, clarify and validate customer needs, challenges, risks and opportunities on an ongoing basis

  • Facilitate solution development efforts that address customer wants/needs and meet the organizations growth ambitions

  • Build an internal network of key contacts across multiple functions and business units to support with the development and delivery of all CTS projects

  • Maintain high customer satisfaction ratings that meet company standardsCoordinate all customer business reviews

Minimum Requirements

5 years’ Account Management experience within the clinical trial sector or pharmaceutical manufacturing industries

Critical Skills

  • 3-5 years’ Account Management experience within the clinical trial sector or pharmaceutical manufacturing industries required

  • 3-5 years of experience in supplier and/or customer relationship management

  • Proven track record to meet and/or exceed business targets

  • Financial acumen to evaluate revenue/profit opportunities associated with accounts

  • Strong experience managing competing deadlines and manage multiple client relationships

  • Ability to influence decision makers, strong negotiation skills

  • Excellent communication, presentation, written and interpersonal skills

Additional Knowledge & Skills

  • Experience coming up with creative problem resolutions, out of the box thinking

  • Demonstrated experience with customer/supplier account management practices and procedures

  • Ability to leverage in-depth knowledge of the customer’s pipeline and business operations with account planning to identify, inform, analyze, and close on account opportunities

  • Strong experience working in cross- functional environment

  • Analytical and conceptual thinking skills

  • Project Management experience preferred


  • BS degree or equivalent experience Clinical Trials or Pharmaceutical manufacturing.

  • Master’s degree preferred
