Company Job ID-ESMEUS3372Position SummaryThe Sr IT engineer under the guidance of architect, partners with customers and provides a key role in helping to lead projects and in designing solutions. The Sr IT engineer will provide a senior software development role to design, develop, and implement capabilities in .Net/C# that advance the roadmap and vision of the Ecosystem Mapping team and its partners. The successful candidate will help to maintain in-depth subject matter expertise and domain knowledge with regard to capabilities for the corporate Enterprise Architecture repository and other repositories used to maintain critical IT capability relationship data. The Senior IT Engineer will assist in process optimization, and assess progress through data-driven metrics.Essential Functions(Majority of responsibilities detailed below though not meant to be all-inclusive or to prevent others from being assigned)Develop the support and execution functions within the system security engineering organizationWeighs business needs against both security and implementation risk in order support the business and overall information protection strategyParticipate within a diverse team of support and execution engineers while also focusing on project demands and tasksDevelop, analyze and execute change controls that will affect the internal and perimeter security components in a reliable yet agile manner while enforcing defined change control policiesBuild strong relationships with the dedicated engineering team in order to help develop and support new and existing capabilitiesDevelop and maintain comprehensive and current support documentation (hardware/software inventory, runbooks, build documents, checklists, SOP's, diagrams, etc.)Build strong relationships with technology vendorsProvide technical system security expertise to both internal and external customers in order to resolve highly complex system security related issuesHelp develop and manage software and hardware life-cycle programs including security patching, hardening and vulnerability managementMeet regularly with counterparts from Risk Management to align with the broader LAN/WAN/Wireless and Network Security information protection strategiesDemonstrate the ability to assist engineering on improving and supporting current capabilitiesMentor junior staff in order to continue building a world class system security engineering support organizationAvailable 24x7 as an escalation point for related technologies as necessaryPerform other related duties as needed QualificationsBachelor's degree in Information Security, Computer Science or related discipline or equivalent experienceMust be detail oriented and able to effectively manage competing projects and prioritiesMotivated, passionate technology driven individual with a focus on process improvement, technical support and analytical thinking5+ years experience as a technical engineering or support team focused aspects related to technology securityAbility to participate in a fast paced and agile environment with a concentration in system security or related areasPrevious experience in system security administration with a working understanding of at least some of the following platforms and technologies: Linux, AIX, HP-UX, firewalls/vpn, load balancing, web application firewall, web proxy, email security, DLP, DNS security, network routing/switching).Familiar with cloud security conceptsRelevant industry Information Security certification(s); CISSP, CompTIA Security +, CEH, GIAC Security Essentials, or CISM.Excellent communication and client relation skills.Understanding the overall business functions and the impact of technical decisions on business resultsKnowledge, skills, and abilities normally required for competent performance in the job.Proficient with Red Hat Linux operating systemProficient knowledge with VMware virtualization environmentsProficient with IBM AIX operating environmen
