Role Value Proposition : The US Investment Operations AVP will be responsible to manage the daily, monthly and year end activities in our US office to support the North America business unit. Candidates must possess the broad knowledge and understanding of cash management, trading operations, invest
ent instruments, management reporting and related data needs. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker who will participate in project initiatives.
Lead and manage a team of 5-7 professionals in a dynamic, fast paced environment
Manage and oversee Investments Cash Management Team as well as actively participate in daily activities pertaining cash management.
Manage and oversee the trade operations for all securities trading that is executed on the US trading desks.
Further develop the strategy to build a scalable platform that leverages other areas of MetLife that will improve the operational efficiency of the organization
Work closely with business partners and key stakeholders to stay current with the business direction and influence those decisions from an operations perspective
Partner with Technology to improve operational effectiveness and enhance productivity
Develop, implement, and monitor key performance metrics to ensure quality and efficiency in all business processes
Perform all cash management functions end to end in our Treasury Workstation to support MetLife’s cash flows.
Provide information to the Front Office and Traders to analyze the Treasury Workstation reports and Blackrock’s Aladdin systems to support cash forecasting for the Portfolio Manager.
Manage all corresponding bank balances and advise on the daily cash position.
Reconcile all bank accounts and investigate portfolio outages where necessary.
Work with the centralized reconciliation teams to resolve reconciliation breaks occurring in portfolios managed within the region.
Trade support functions such as trade confirmations & settlement notifications, corporate action processing and operational cash entries
Support regional implementation efforts of processing- and data-management platforms and associated governance programs.
Perform testing and provide analysis of results that lead to the execution of requirements.
Create and update documentation that is to be used as part of Regional Operations Support.
Work with team members across the organization to understand, identify and address issues or opportunities that lead to effective support processes and improvements in quality of services.
Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:
Business Administration or BS in Accounting, Finance, or IT related field.
Previous management experience (minimum team size of 5-6 individuals)
Strong understanding of cash management, investment operations support, reporting, and fixed income and equity securities analytics.
10+ years relevant experience in Financial Services industry, Capital Markets and Investment Products (Fixed Income & equity securities).
Advanced problem solving abilities and communication skills.
Excellent multi-tasking and time management skills.
Ability to maintain high level of visibility inside and outside the firm
Experience with Aladdin, Omgeo, TradeWeb, Bloomberg or other Investment platforms is a plus
