The Benefit Advocate is responsible to coordinate reimbursement sources and other activities related to securing reimbursement for hospital services provided to patients who are either already admitted to our hospital, or who may be seeking to obtain services at Lourdes/St Francis. Under the general supervision of the Patient Access Manager, the Benefit Advocate is responsible for working with patients to insure the hospital receives maximum payment for all services rendered, while assisting the patient with any and all avenues of financial assistance available to them. The Benefit Advocate will educate and assist patients with understanding their insurance / options, setting up payment arrangements, collecting patient financial responsibilities. The Benefit Advocate will assist uninsured or underinsured families with navigation of the process related to applying for the Health Insurance Marketplace, government sponsored healthcare resources and / or the Lourdes/St Francis Financial Assistance Program. The Benefit Advocate will assist families with payment plans or other options related to resolving patient account balances.
