Overview:

The post-doctoral fellow in Toxicology serves as an integral member of the investigative toxicology department. This scientist will be responsible for technical and scientific development of in vitro organoid and microphysiological systems to predict and investigate drug-induced toxicity.

Responsibilities will include the following:

1.Evaluate, in detail, potential providers and academic labs working in relevant fields and technologies

2.Understand advantages and shortcomings of various approaches and develop internal strategies and rationale for which model selection and development

3.Devise and execute proof of concept experiments to validate each model

4.Assess toxicological responses to sample compounds within each model

5.Publish and present results both internally and externally

6.Opportunities to contribute to other active investigative toxicology activities will also be available.

Qualifications

Prerequisites:

An advanced graduate degree (Ph.D. or equivalent) in toxicology, molecular biology, immunology, biomedical engineering or related field, with extensive training in molecular and cellular toxicology/biology with an ability to develop novel in vitro models (e.g., microphysiological systems)

Skills/Knowledge Required:

Communication Skills Strong verbal and written skills; ability to provide focus and clarity; able to handle confidential information and material appropriately. Ability to write manuscripts and technical reports effectively.

Team player. Ability to seamlessly integrate into scientific teams involved in multidiscipline approaches to problem solving.
