Stony Brook University Senior Researcher in Stony Brook, New York
Required Qualification: (As Evidenced by an Attached Resume)
Ph.D. and/or M.D with a minimum of three (3) years of research experience. The candidate must have a strong background in electrophysiology, sensory, motor, or behavioral neuroscience and/or neuroanatomical research.
Preferred Qualifications: Neuroanatomical skills and survival surgical techniques (brain and spinal cord injuries). Recent record of research publications. Experience in at least two or more fields: spinal cord injury research, sensory and/or motor neuroscience, neuroanatomical and/or neurorehabilitation research, microscopy, or immunohistochemistry.
Brief Description of Duties:
Develop, design and conduct research experiments related to the proposed research project (including data analysis, manuscript prep/editing, grant writing).
Learn relevant laboratory techniques to independently execute the research project.
Write research grants and prepare manuscripts for publications in peer reviewed and/or scientific journals.
Train/mentor students and research staff.
Work and support interdisciplinary work in small lab groups as well as work collaboratively.
Other duties as assigned, which may include attending Scientific Conferences and Meetings.
Special Notes: FLSA Exempt position, not eligible for the overtime provisions of the FLSA. Minimum salary threshold must be met to maintain FLSA exemption.
