Primary Role

The Operations Representative I may be assigned to perform any task, activity or responsibility that lies within the capability of the employee based on experience, knowledge, qualifications, and training.

Key Accountabilities

  • Completes cost analysis. Records and monitors investment and maintenance budget expenses.

  • Processes mark-out requests in accord with Underground Facility Mark-out Program.

  • Maintains database related to the entry of statistical data regarding the operation of the transmission and distribution system in addition to departmental records. Prepares and schedules service line installations and replacements.

  • Prepares correspondence and documents.

  • Operates all meter reading software and related equipment, as needed.

  • Generates and reviews reports related to meter reading data collected.

  • Creates service orders, as needed, and tracks the service orders to completion. Responds to inquiries accurately and professionally and, when necessary, involves the appropriate individual(s) to resolve customer and company-related issues and to achieve the highest level of Operations Representative I in all areas of assigned responsibilities.

  • May be assigned to perform an task, activity, or responsibility that lies within the capability of the employee based on experience, knowledge, qualifications, and training.

Knowledge / Skills

  • A general understanding of water utility operations and a working knowledge of company policies, procedures, and safety practices, as well as federal, state, and local regulations applicable to area of responsibility. The individual must be detail-oriented and capable of preparing accurate records and documents.

  • The Operations Representative I must possess strong verbal and written communication skills and be capable of operating a computer keyboard with speed and accuracy.

  • The individual must be able to perform the essential functions and meet the physical requirements of Operations Representative I.

  • The individual must be capable of operating Company equipment and vehicles necessary for the completion of assigned responsibilities and must possess and maintain a valid Driver’s License.

Experience / Education

  • High school diploma or GED

  • Required to pass an entrance examination prior to being awarded the position and a final examination developed by the company prior to the conclusion of the qualification period.
