Inspectors are directly responsible to the Chief Inspector for all the inspections they perform and all the completed work before it is released to the public and that the proper inspection records, reports and forms executed and used by the Inspector are accurate and complete.
Update computer maintenance tracking programs with current information on a regular basis; generate maintenance due lists for part 145/135
Perform duties of the Chief Inspector when those duties are delegated by the Chief Inspector
Maintain and oversee maintenance records for all aircraft on the ExcelAire certificate for part 145/135
Review work packages for accuracy and completeness of paperwork
After completion of work by the crew, in cooperation with the Chief Inspector, inspects the work to determine the job is completed and is of the best quality possible.
Familiarize self with all the current pertinent FAA specifications, air worthiness directives, manufacturers instructions, bulletins, technical data and other approved data applicable to the unit he/she inspects
Assure that all the parts rejected or found not serviceable by him/her are properly marked and tagged.
Properly execute the malfunction of part 145 and defect report FAA form 8010-4 as necessary
Proper execution of FAA form 337 and maintenance release pertinent to all items returned to service by him/her.
Perform preliminary and hidden damage for part 145, in progress and final inspection of all the items as assigned to him/her for inspection
Ensure that no defective or un-airworthy parts are installed any component or unit returned to service by him/her.
Follow policies and procedures as detailed in the Air Carrier (Part 135) and Repair Station (Part 145) manuals
Inspect all work performed on all aircraft for the Part 135 and Part 145 operations as assigned by the Chief Inspector
High school diploma; college education preferred
FAA Certified A&P License
Five years experience working in an Inspector's position, preferred
Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills required.
Computer literate in MS Office, with the ability to learn new software as required
Professional verbal/written communication skills required
Must pass all conducted drug screens, background and security checks and prove eligibility for employment in the United States.
Excellent communication, listening, and problem solving skills
Ability to work as part of a team or independently
Must be able to present information
Ability to act under pressure and be adaptable to change on a constant basis
