TheMulti-Family Relationship Manager ("RM") works within a team that may have direct clientresponsibility but predominantly provides support to a broker driven salesstrategy with a concentration in Multi Family term lending. The incumbent assistsas a liaison between the Relationship Management Team, Internal Partners,Vendors, and the client. The RM proactively supports existing and new clientacquisition activities, helping resolve complex issues. The RM assists in thecoordination of the credit approval process for loans or the sales process fornon-credit sales, as well as complying with internal policies and procedures.The RM services and enhances the existing customer experience by usingindependent judgment in meeting the various needs of the client. The RM activelyconsults with, and follows up with, the onboarding of all new clients. Monitorskey risk indicators within the portfolio of clients including, past dues,changes to the client's risk profile, or service issues, and takes action asappropriate. This position may work with an ARM or AM in gathering financial andother information to formulate strategies to generate revenue via credit andnon-credit products.


  • Proactively develops, with the RelationshipManagement Team, the sourcing and prospecting of existing or new clients througha broker referral network, centers of influence, or intermediaries. May alsoparticipate in direct calling activity.

  • In conjunction with other members of theRelationship Management Team, formulates a strategy and structure for managing revenuegenerating activities for new transactions and renewals. May prepare or assistin preparing term sheets or application letters or non-credit proposals,outlining transaction terms and structures.

  • Work closely with the client, ARM, AM, risk, or product teams to provide information to assist the underwriting team in the origination of new credit or product specialists for non-credit opportunities, insuring the customer receives timely responses. Is a main contact with clients or vendors to obtain and provide information to internal teams to assist in the origination and underwriting process. Examples include; financial statements,credit references, credit reports, appraisal,environmental, engineering or architectural reports. May work with ARM or AM inpreparing a RORAC and cross sell business plan.

  • Inconjunction with external counsel, assists Relationship Management team andRelationship Assistants (RA) in all pre and post-closing documentation andfollow up.

  • Consultwith customers in all aspects of servicing the portfolio, takes appropriateaction to manage and retain the portfolio. Take initiative and utilizesindependent judgment to resolve service issues.

  • Works with product specialists to promote andimplement cross-sell products or services for existing and new clients.

  • Inconjunction with ARM and AM’s, coordinates pipeline management, pre andpost-closing internal sales reporting and compliance reporting. Provides supportin meeting all compliance due diligence including KYC protocols.

  • Bachelor's degree; Masters a plus

  • 5+ years relevant experience - banking and knowledge of multi-family commercial real estate

  • Self-starter, can-do attitude, adaptable, problem solver, strong time management, good interpersonal skills

  • Strong computer literacy skills, proficient with MS office

  • Able to work in a team environment and consult with clients

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Strong customer service skills and an ability to use independent judgment to solve problems. Capable of managing a client portfolio

  • Strong analytical training and the ability to implement and interpret policies and procedures. Solid industry knowledge, solid market knowledge.
