As a member of the Risk Management division, you'll be a part of a diverse team of talented professionals dedicated to identifying, measuring, monitoring and managing data risk. We are seeking a technology fluent, creative thinker with vision for data management to provide hands on assistance in developing innovative metrics to measure the quality of SHUSA's data and successfully manage any data issues that arise.

This role's data domain is Global Commercial Banking (GCB) and it's execution vehicles; products include equities, fixed income, credit and derivatives across both US high grade and Latin American markets.


  • Assist in Key Data Element identification with data stakeholders across GCB using a risk based and process driven approach.

  • Define data quality requirements including business rules/controls, metrics and targets.

  • Identify, investigate and resolve data discrepancies by finding future occurrences.

  • Other responsibilities include: assisting with development of data and process improvement plans, providing and respond to inquiries asking for insights about GCB data management from senior stakeholders and maintaining a project management tracker and assisting with the communication of the team's status and deliverables on a regular basis.

  • Strong interest in data management and appreciation for the data governance value proposition for operations and technology in Global Commercial Banking.

  • Excellent communication skills- verbal, written and visual.

  • Data Management is cross functional and collaborative- you should be equally comfortable interacting with our technology partners as you are with business people as well as our teammates in operations.

  • Bilingual Spanish a big plus.

  • History of effective multi-tasking (managing long complex projects alongside urgent high- priority tasks) expectation setting and escalation of issues where appropriate.

  • Some experience with financial markets, working knowledge of the financial services industry preferred

  • Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint

  • Experience with Visio, SQL and VBA- a plus

  • Familiarity with modern BI solutions ( Qlik, Tableau, data management toolsets- IGC, Metadex, etc.

  • Data modeling concepts (relational constraints, indexing and normalizing schemas, Advanced SQL (stored procedures, views, triggers, etc would be a strong advantage but not a requirement.
