TheBlackRock Investment Institute(BII) provides connectivity between BlackRock’s portfolio managers, originates economic and markets research, develops actionable views for clients, and publishes investment insights.

The Equity Investment Strategy team (within BII) combines the top-down macro insights of BII/ BLK investors with bottoms-up perspectives from fundamental and quantitative investors to develop global equity insights. The team conducts their own proprietary macro equity research and delivers content via various communication channels (i.e. internal and external publications, client and industry conferences, media, and in-person client meetings). The team plays an important role of developing capital market assumptions and collaborating on research projects with investors across other asset class platforms. The increasing demand for the team's input across a variety of areas has resulted in a need for an additional Associate role within the team.

Responsibilities

The Equity Investment Strategist will support the Chief Equity Strategist in all aspects of the strategy team’s responsibilities and support the development of both tactical and strategic equity market views and multi-asset investment insights.

On the internal side, this includes the improvement and maintenance of tools for analyzing global equity markets, and contributing to top-down and bottoms-up research. The Associate will be responsible for collaborating with both fundamental and quantitative equity investment teams as well as the product strategists across BlackRock. On the external side, this includes contributing to content for equity investment strategy communications through written publications, updating and maintaining presentation decks, and ad-hoc data and market commentary requests.

The ideal candidate for the equity strategist role will be self-directed, intellectually curious, and proactive about knowledge-sharing with multiple groups across BlackRock.

Requirements/ Qualifications:

  • Passion for markets and investing.
  • Solid foundation in economics and macro drivers of asset markets. Equity experience a plus.
  • Strong analytical skills and facility in both manipulating data and synthesizing conclusions. Charting and graphics skills are highly desirable.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
  • Superior interpersonal and communication (written and verbal) skills.
  • Team player who can build relationships and work across teams.
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task.
  • Ability to handle tight deadlines under pressure.
