The Early Careers organization is responsible for attracting, developing and retaining top undergraduate, Master’s, MBA and PhD talent at the firm. Our goal is to support business growth by recruiting, training and supporting high-performing Analysts and Associates in the organization for both summer and fulltime programs.
Overall purpose of role: //
Graduate Development is responsible for integrating new campus hires into the firm and managing their early tenure experience. The team’s goal is to provide high-performing Analysts and Associates to the business by ensuring that each incoming individual has the tools necessary for success in his/her initial role, performs to his/her full potential, and builds the foundation for a lasting career at the firm. The Americas Technology Graduate Development Manager is responsible for designing, developing and delivering a best-in-class graduate experience to new Technology hires while simultaneously supporting strategic business priorities and continued growth. The role holder must be a strategic thinker with strong ability to develop relationships at the most senior levels of the business, all the way down to the junior hires.
Key Accountabilities and Skills required:
o Key specific accountabilities.
o Serve as a subject matter expert on junior talent for Technology within the wider Grad Development, Campus Recruitment, and HR communities and lead a small team in driving the junior development approach for Technology.
o De sign and execute an effective and cost-efficient Initial Training and Continuing Professional Education Programs for all Technology campus hires
o Build and maintain strong relationships with senior business stakeholders to ensure educational offerings appropriately support the business
o Participate in and lead other human resource processes for Technology campus hires, such as performance management, promotion decisions and compensation, ensuring ongoing development of campus hires as they progress and helping build the business along the way.
o Build and oversee Americas Technology graduate development budget.
o Manage internal mobility processes for Americas Technology graduate populations
o Provide career development guidance to graduates
o Lead continuous improvement initiatives in the Americas Graduate Development team by partnering with Graduate Development Heads of Americas Global Markets and Americas Banking businesses and other colleagues in the team and supporting global initiatives across graduate development.
o Partner with global colleagues to ensure global Technology graduate program is effective and cohesive
o Stakeholder management and leadership. //
o Partner with business stakeholders to ensure development offerings effectively support graduate requirements and business needs
o Serve as graduate advocate with managers, business leadership and HR leaders
o Drive new development initiatives across Technology to support graduate growth, retention and satisfaction
o Consult with business leaders and HR Business Partners, ensuring stakeholders dedicate the appropriate level of priority to graduate development efforts in terms of time, resources and focus
o Work with Graduate Development leadership and Early Careers leadership to create a cohesive approach to developing and retaining junior talent across the bank
o Develop and maintain strong relationships with business leaders and HR colleagues
o Decision making and problem solving.
o Ensure Technology Graduate Development offering is fit for purpose and provide strategic advice on programming and initiatives to ensure graduate satisfaction
o Manage challenging graduate situations and partner with HR and business stakeholders to arrive at positive outcomes
o Partner with business counterparts and HR colleagues to develop and execute strategic changes to graduate program structure, content and offerings
o Utilize Excel to manage candidate data effectively and accurately
Risk and Control: All Barclays colleagues have to ensure that all activities and duties are carried out in full compliance with regulatory requirements, Enterprise Wide Risk Management Framework and internal Barclays Policies and Policy Standards.
Your Skills and Qualifications will include
