SMBC Support Staff - Facilities/Reception in Jersey City, New Jersey


SMBC is seeking support staff to work in the Jersey City office. The primary focus is the support of the New Jersey Harborside facilities and reception area. Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the distribution of mail and delivery of material, internally and externally, potentially via other sources (e.g., overnight express). The person in this position will work with the courier services and maintain office and pantry supplies. They will also work with the regional regulated postal service in keeping abreast of current requirements.


  • Responsible for the delivery of mail internally and externally (USPS, FedEx, DHL, UPS, etc.)

  • Logging of important documents and their distribution

  • Preparing the nightly branch mail to domestic and overseas locations

  • Maintaining office and pantry supplies

  • Supporting the New Jersey facilities team and providing backup reception coverage as necessary 


  • Related mailroom experience preferred

  • Some limited overtime during the week and certain weekends for special projects and required maintenance will be necessary

  • Lifting of packages required

  • Good team player

  • Self motivated

  • Professional with excellent communication skills
