Senior Business Analyst/Team Manager Accounting, Vice President

Job Summary

Senior Business Analyst/Team Manager with Accounting/ GL with experience required to manage team in the Business Solutions group supporting Accounting and General Ledger business lines. This includes primarily Comptrollers and Operations but also includes Front Office, Risk, Middle Office, US Branches (LA & Chicago) and Canada Branch. Leads a team of 2-3 to manage all business related deliverables throughout the project life cycle for GL Team. Ensures delivery on a timely basis with a high level of quality. This includes analysis of business processes and system functionality to ensure requirements and designs meet business needs. Manages the documentation and resolution of Business Service Desk inquires for GL Team.

Major Responsibilities

  • Supports Comptrollers group for integration onto new platforms for General Ledger, Accounts Payable and Fixed Assets. Analyzes user requirements, procedures, and problems to facilitate client onboarding to new applications

  • Responsible for chart of accounts analysis and migration and journal pattern GAP analysis.

  • Confers with personnel of organizational units involved to analyze current operational procedures, identify problems, and learn specific input and output requirements such as forms of data input, how data is to be summarized, and formats for reports.

  • Supports the analysis, development and testing of downstream reports related to Financial, Regulatory and Head Office Reporting.

  • Test Planning and Coordination. Ensure application meets business requirements. Create and track test plans, cases, and scripts.

  • Migration Planning, Coordination and Execution.

  • Reviews existing application capabilities, workflows, and scheduling limitations to determine if requirements can be met within existing system. Works with stakeholders and IT to develop workarounds where application cannot meet requirements.

  • Prepares operational workflow charts and diagrams to specify in detail operations to be performed based on target applications including new back office system and integration with Oracle GL/AP/FA and OFSA.

  • Assists developers in resolution of work problems related to flowcharts, project specifications, or programming.

  • Identify, lead and drive analysis of outstanding issues and ensure proper resolution and communication amongst stakeholders. Ensure status is communicated appropriately to all stakeholders and project management team throughout all phases of the project.

  • Experienced SME in Financial Accounting Standards and Practices.

  • Experienced SME in Regulatory Reporting and Financial Reporting.

  • Experienced SME in Banking products and processes including multicurrency accounting, daily accrual, FX revaluation, mark to market and managerial accounting for the bank.

  • Working Knowledge of Oracle GL/AP/ FA

  • Good communication skills

  • Management experience

  • Experience with MS Excel, Word, Visio, PowerPoint and Project.

  • Individual will have 8-10 years of experience.

  • Education: Bachelors Degree preferable in Finance.
