Project and Technology Manager (1702623) – Florham Park, NJ
This position is responsible for the North America (NA) coordination of OpEx initiatives, asset strategies, and site development plans, as well as supporting development of capital projects within Care Chemical technologies. S/he will serve as the primary liaison to the Care Chemicals global technology organization in the review, coordination, and implementation of core technologies at NA manufacturing facilities. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating the development of the NA Care Chemical manufacturing site’s 5-year capital plan, as well as the NA Care Chemical manufacturing sites maintenance plan on a yearly basis. This position reports into the VP of Operations, Care Chemicals NA.
Formula for Success: You Will…
· Facilitate development of capital project packages and oversees the implementation of these projects.
· Liaise with business group and asset and margin management team to develop project objectives and economic justifications.
· Support assessment and rollout of Operational Excellence initiatives, liaising with the corporate and divisional OpEx platforms, including x-matrix coordination, KPI tracking, and site development plans.
· Support sites in developing implementation plans and supports execution of EM core technologies and safety concepts in NA production units.
· Drive technical process optimizations at the Care Chemicals North American sites.
· Develop Care Chemicals NA 5-Year Capital Plan working with TES Managers at all manufacturing sites.
· Develop Care Chemicals NA Year Maintenance Budget Plan working with TES Managers at all manufacturing sites.
· Collaborate with Global Technology Group, EMT, for technical and safety concept reviews and improvements.
· Provide project coordination for large capital projects at sites when needed.
· Facilitate best practice sharing regarding technical standards across Care Chemical manufacturing sites.
This development position is an accelerated development experience for candidates who require a cross-business and/or cross-functional assignment based on their development goals. Candidate should have track record of getting results in first time, diverse, and changing conditions and demonstrating higher performance over time. Due to the developmental nature of this role, time in role is expected to last between 24 to 36 months.

Qualifications - BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent
Ingredients for Success: What We Look for in You…
Bachelor’s degree in a technical/engineering discipline required; advanced degree is a plus.
A minimum of 5 years of direct process technology or operations experience is preferred.
Expertise in Operational Excellence and Continuous Improvement concepts and capital project processes, including technical and economic reviews.
Detailed knowledge of Process Safety requirements and PSM covered processes.
Experience in capital planning and project management.
Strong organizational and communications skills.
Ability to influence without direct authority.
Able to travel up to 30% of the time.
