A successful Group Sales Specialist will:

  • Be interested in each group opportunity and work with group leads to develop appropriate itineraries to satisfy their travel needs

  • Timely prepare comprehensive group quotes for both travel agents and customers

  • Strive to close group leads and consistently push to exceed monthly sales goals

  • Focus on educating the group in regards to the different innovative solutions we offer for group travel

  • Answer incoming calls via the group phone queue and respond to group requests via email and through our online request form

  • Work with hoteliers to confirm rates, hotel inventory and group inclusions prior to finalizing the group

  • Attend training sessions to build hotel and destination product knowledge

  • Align closely with teammates to problem solve and support each other

  • Take pride and strive for excellence in responding same day to all communications and phone calls

  • Be flexible in supporting different projects throughout the day as priorities change

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or at least one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Knowledge of systems such as Microsoft Office and other office procedures and terminology

  • Ability to multi-task and stay organized

  • Must possess excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to maintain strong relationships both internally and externally

  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and staff to contribute to results driven and team oriented environment

  • Proficient in both Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word

  • Strong ability to efficiently navigate through various computer screens and programs
